A Celebration of Spirit and Community
Welcome to the only Dances of Universal Peace camp in the UK exclusively for young people.
This camp can be enjoyed on many different levels: as a coming together of community through different activities, as a celebration of the Dances of Universal Peace or simply as a place to hang out and just be yourself. The camp also offers an opportunity for young people who would like to explore going deeper in leading the dances or playing music for the dances.
Besides the Dances of Universal Peace a multitude of other things are offered in the programme during the four days that we are together, and many of these are shared by young people themselves, as well as the invited teachers. We encourage you to consider bringing an offering, as there may well be an opportunity to share that during the camp.
What is offered is different every year depending on what people feel inspired to share and in past camps these activities have included: life stories, hot chocolate, dream sharing, self defence, yoga, mindfulness, chakra-opening practices, jamming, Georgian singing, guitar lessons, hair braiding, harmony singing, shiatsu, physical theatre, 5 rhythms, laughter yoga, shadow work, gender/sexuality talks, volleyball, frisbee, kodaly, nature walks, dream catchers, storytelling, mixed martial arts, henna body painting, divination, Indian head massage, harmony singing, the Aramaic Lord’s Prayer, relaxation, belly dancing, and games.
What are the Dances of Universal Peace? They are a sublimely beautiful form of sacred dance that trace their origins back to Sufism and India and allows us to reconnect with our own true nature. As we sing and dance to sacred phrases from the world’s wisdom traditions we find that we are more easily able to connect with each other and to the ever-living essence within ourselves. We will deepen into other aspects of dance leadership such as planetary walks, breathwork, musicianship, history of the dances and more. For young people who would like to lead dances during the camp there will be many opportunities.
Campfires, sharings, offerings of all kinds, voice practices, Q&A Support — this and much more will be on offer at the Unicorn Dancing Spirit Youth Camp. As with all Unicorn camps, food is self-catering. Book now to reserve your place!
Practical Information
Meals – During the week of youth camp the café is not operational so food is self-catering, please bring your own food for lunch, as well as eating utensils. For breakfast and dinner we ask for a contribution of £10 per person in total for the four evening meals and four breakfast meals during the week. For the evening meal at 6pm we cook communally around the camp fire. There is a nearby Sainsburys and we typically do a couple of food runs during the week, both for communal food and for individual orders.
Camping Gear – please bring a good sleeping bag, blanket and warm jumper as the nights can get quite cold, even in August! Some spare blankets and sleeping bags may be available to borrow from the camp on a first come first served basis – numbers are limited so please contact us earlier rather than later to see if there are still spare items.
Age 31+ – if you are 30ish and would like to participate in the camp please contact Unicorn to book your ticket since the automated booking system only goes up to age 30.
BRING A FRIEND SCHEME
For participants who have already attended a previous Youth Camp:
Bring a friend who is new to the Youth Camp, both you and your friend will get a cashback refund: you will receive a £20 cashback and your friend will also receive a £20 cashback.
To qualify for the cashback your friend must supply your name during the booking process when they book their ticket. There is a field presented for this purpose: “Name of person who referred you”. There is no particular deadline to qualify for the Bring a Friend Scheme, though if you and your friend book by 15th July you will also enjoy a further £10 discount as early birds.
Please note that Bring a Friend is a cashback scheme that, for the sake of simplicity is not fully integrated into the online booking process. This means anyone participating in the scheme will pay the full ticket prices during booking but will receive cashback as actual cash on the field during camp.
You may refer multiple new friends, whether or not you are able to attend this year’s camp. If you are coming to camp and refer enough friends you could potentially come to camp absolutely free! If you refer a friend and are not able to come to this year’s camp, Unicorn will send the cashback to you electronically after camp.

Dances of Universal Peace
From the beginning of time, sacred movement, song and story have brought people together – at times of seasonal ceremony and celebration, as part of everyday life and life passages, in daily renewal and meditation. The Dances of Universal Peace are part of this timeless tradition.
