Christina Baines
Circle Dancing & Taizé - Christina first met Circle Dancing in the mid 1980s and was hooked. This form of dancing gave her the connection with community she longed for. Over the years she has lead the dance at her own regular sessions, for ceremonies, at community events and at camps
She still loves the opportunity to offer these dances, to lead the traditional steps to music from the communities of many cultures as well as to share dances which have evolved as modern expressions of this ancient tradition. Circle dances offer us the opportunity to join together in joy, in playfulness or in mindful focus as an expression of our human journey.
Christina has also been leading and teaching Taize songs – devotional Christian chants sung in up to 4 parts – for many years, while living in intentional community, at special events and at smaller dance and voice camps. She has also led a weekly Taize choir for around 10 years in her local town.
Singing these beautiful, devotional songs can lead us into prayerful meditation and are an invocation to Spirit.
